The ACLS class content will be presented through a combination of lecture, video, and hands on practice. Throughout the class, students will demonstrate their skills by performing CPR with an AED, managing respiratory arrest, leading a team through a mega code, and passing a written multiple choice exam. CPR Louisville instructors have a goal of helping each student be successful at learning and mastering all of the skills taught in our ACLS class. Our instructors walk students through the course step by step and take extra time to answer all questions along the way. CPR Louisville has a goal of making each class FUN and STRESS FREE!

Because the American Heart Association places high importance on team dynamics, students will work together as a team and will rotate through various team member roles. It is important that each student becomes comfortable in all ACLS team member roles. For example, each student will have an opportunity to be the team leader, member in charge of medication administration, member in charge of airway, member in charge of CPR, member in charge of the monitor/defibrillator, and the member in charge of recoding and time management.
Students must prepare with their manual, complete a required ACLS pre course self-assessment, and have a solid understanding of how to recognize irregular and dangerous cardiac rhythms by name on the monitor. The required texts for the course, which are included in this all inclusive deal, are the American Heart Association ACLS Manual and ECG Pharmacology Manual. The class length is approximately 10 hours.
An email with our location, your receipt, class preparation instructions, and confirmation will be sent to you immediately. Your course manuals will be shipped within 2 business days, along with pre course instructions.
